No, Mercury is not retrograde. We have a huge amount of Gemini energy which is ruled by Mercury from the influence of this week’s Solar eclipse and Neptune blurs the edges of anything requiring a clear definition as it stands perfectly still for a change to retrograde motion on Friday.
The week ahead is filled with excitement and possible chaos when looking forward at a few planet changes and a solar eclipse. Even though a week away Mercury, Jupiter and Neptune will increase weather patterns, influence economic sweeps, perspectives and shifts in the winds of foreign matters and government decisions. Greater support is designed by the 120° trine between the Sun and retrograde Saturn. It is time to gather loose ends and move forward in a steady fashion.
The solar eclipse occurs on Wednesday, June 1st at 5:02 PM at 11 Gemini 02’ and is the first of five solar eclipses at this degree that will repeat with a nineteen year pattern. However in 2003 there was a solar eclipse very nearby which triggers the memory of events from that spring. This week’s partial eclipse of the Sun is visible in eastern Asia, Greenland and Iceland.

An eclipse amplifies planetary activity and there are several in an excited state. Jupiter at 29° Aries is freeing up the space for the entrepreneur; widening the playing field for the individual and extending luck to some as it races to leave Aries for the greener pastures of Taurus on June 4th. Once Mercury enters his home domain on Thursday and builds a tall tale and swirls the wind when square Neptune at its extreme stationary point of zero Pisces. It will turn retrograde on Friday June 3rd. Retrograde Saturn is also stationary by then but will not turn direct until June 12th.

What does this all mean for us might be hard to pin down because of Neptune’s famous clouds and smoke screens. So much dust and wind stirred up makes it difficult to see past the cosmetic exteriors surrounding so many important issues. Global events are large whether economical, political or geological. For some a large dose of Neptune supplies us with enough anesthesia to mask the pain of great change. An invitation for spiritual change looks out beyond the present to a greater goal not apparent from the pulpit. It’s an inside leap of faith. A sense of loss may cause some to seek an escape. The Saturn and Uranus opposition of the past three years is revived with the eclipse chart and seemingly remains in effect while both planets square Pluto in Capricorn. Beyond the literal ground breaking events, corporate heads and government leaders are subject to exposure of unfair and illegal practices leading to dramatic shifts. The Sun trine Saturn invites the seat of justice to intervene.

In the eclipse chart, the lunar nodes lay across the axis of the up and coming lunar eclipse, June 15th. Ceres, ruler of food supplies and nurturing and care of others is pressed to take more than she can handle due to a square to the lunar nodes.

This week is good for conjuring up a magic spell but not great for strongly structured plans. Oil may flow freely along with your imagination. Write at every chance. Inspiration comes from unique and unusual sources.

It is very interesting to look back on the economy through the window of Jupiter’s past transit through Taurus. 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 1999, 2000, now 2011 for the next year.
On May 12, 2012 Jupiter will trigger the astro-memory of the Jupiter – Saturn conjunction of May 2000 which was a very important social/economic event which set the stage for economic crisis of 2008 to present.

The void of course Moon periods this week with other notes are as follows;

2. Tuesday v/c Taurus Moon at 4:33 PM when an excellent parallel between the Sun and Moon occurs.
The v/c Moon period ends when the Moon enters Gemini at 7:56 PM – Tuesday.
The Gemini Moon will host the Solar eclipse on Wednesday at 5:02 PM and

3. The Gemini Moon is void of course Friday at 4:07 AM until 4:36 AM when the Moon enters Cancer until Sunday June 5th.

Transiting Sun Quincunx Transiting Pluto
Brief description: This is a health aspect in both mental and physical realms. The nature of the quincunx is that of adjustments that need to be made as a result of an upset. This is a "life's-messy clean-it-up" aspect that can be mentally tormenting. Pluto rules deep psychological change that is usually precipitated by some cathartic event. Now the Sun and Pluto connect at this angle to expose subjects that have been missing, closed or buried. Matters involving healthcare workers, police, mortgages, taxes, money-lenders and major leaders could come into the light in an uncomfortable setting. This particular aspect may lead to connections in high places.
For personal use: A disruptive event involving family, close friends and outsiders could be the source of problems. Lay low, operate with integrity and compassion when dealing with intense drama. Be part of the solution. Resist saying, "I told you so" and allow time to pick up the pieces. Try window-shopping for a house or get away for a while. Do mindless tasks to release stress.
For business: Function within legal lines. If your project comes to a dead stop, consider new possibilities. Nothing is worth risking your mental or physical health. Use this time to clean up.

Transiting Sun Trine Transiting Saturn
Brief description: Administration and infrastructure run smoothly. Confidence and self control. Presentations are logical and feasible. Practical applications of your creative efforts are well received. Sound judgment using boundaries and limits. Time pays offs. Good timing. Loose ends are gathered. Patience, tolerance and endurance. Slow steady progress.
For personal use: A door once closed is now open.
For business: Approach the boss with your plan. Business heads are willing to address problems and act upon a solid plan.
